As part of a far reaching research mission into proven low and zero carbon technologies currently being implemented in the UK, a delegation of senior professionals from leading organisations in Japan recently paid a special visit to Vital Energi’s energy efficient installation at the prestigious ‘Grosvenor Waterside’ residential development in Chelsea.
The delegation consisting of representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Environment, gas associations, utility suppliers and academic institutions were tasked with investigating and considering new ways to achieve their renewable energy goals. Committed to aggressive CO2 emissions cuts, Japan is the world's fifth-largest producer of greenhouse gases and is promising to reduce CO2 emissions by 25% below 1990 levels by 2020.
Grosvenor Waterside was singled out because of Vital Energi’s unique design involving the unusual combination of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) providing on-site generation and distribution of electricity for sales back to the grid, as well as a biomass fuelled system using wood chips as the carbon neutral fuel source.
Vital Energi’s team of engineers responsible for delivering this impressive project were only too happy to educate this group of impressed representatives who learnt about the latest innovative ideas in energy efficient design and construction. Honoured that their scheme received such interest from this high-level visit and to be acknowledged and respected for setting new standards in sustainable development from such a technically innovative nation is a tribute to the Vital Energi’s reputation within the renewable energy marketplace.
