Vital Energi's designs win top marks with UK's leading blue chip companies (15/12/2008)

Household names such as Tesco and Peel Holdings as well as leading regeneration specialists including St Modwen are seeing the benefits of Vital Energi's design expertise at early development stage on significant mixed use energy efficient schemes around the UK.

Vital Energi has been examined in the marketplace by the consultants appointed by such prestigious companies and are frequently receiving top marks for their depth of expertise and track record for delivering projects that work.

Vital Energi has probably the greatest depth of design expertise within the energy sector. This is enhanced by a broad cross section of engineering skills from more mature European markets including Denmark and Germany, contributing knowledge of pioneering technologies incorporating low and zero carbon technologies on larger scale energy schemes, providing tremendous synergy, resulting in value engineered scheme designs that are robust and deliver.

Furthermore, the company's specialist knowledge and experience in conceiving schemes incorporating technologies such as Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and biomass and also implementing, operating and maintaining them is quite unique in the market place, ensuring that each scheme delivers it's performance requirements and guarantees to clients over the long term.

Vital Energi's design expertise and knowledge is currently being employed on the most significant eco-friendly schemes currently underway in the UK.

Last year Vital Energi was selected by St Modwen through a bidding process based on the company's reputation in the marketplace plus its specific in-house skills and experience in delivering sustainable regeneration projects. As a result the company has designed a unique and innovative community heating scheme fuelled 100% by renewable sources, as part of a £150million 'Littlecombe' residential development in Gloucestershire. Vital Energi are also providing installation, operation and maintenance of the system and selling the energy to the customers.

Vital Energi's design credentials extends north of the border too. The company has recently signed a project development agreement with Scottish housing developer Bancon Homes to undertake design work for a revolutionary scheme involving combined heat and power based on the gasification of biomass, a new type of technology within the UK. Part of the 'Hill of Banchory' residential development in Aberdeen, the biomass CHP installation will generate heat and electricity to 230 homes in total using wood as fuel sourced locally from forests and sawmills. It is envisaged that heat energy will be generated by the biomass CHP plant by early 2010.

Of key importance to the success of such significant schemes for such prominent clients is Vital Energi's early involvement to ensure that the solution not only meets environmental and technical requirements but also crucially integrates into the scheme as a whole.
