Being a Leader in Low Carbon Energy Solutions carries great responsibility, not only to do a job well, but to educate others and increase energy awareness. The greatest reduction in energy use occurs when people change their consumption habits. Vital Energi helped to take another step forwards in the education of our next generation of energy consumers with the completion, recently, of a showcase educational project for Hartwell Primary School in Northampton.

Vital installed a new 9.12kw Solar PV system which is set to save 93 tonnes of CO2 and over £400 per year in electricity, paying for itself in around 6 years. The school should also benefit from an improvement in its energy performance rating to at least level B. The new system will not only save energy and money for the School, but will also be used as a means of educating pupils about climate change and how the power of the sun can provide real economic as well as environmental benefits for our planet.

With the government’s recently announced reduction to the allowable FiT and an earlier deadline for installation completion looming, Vital Energi responded to the school’s request to proceed, arranging for all works and materials within a matter of days, completing all works on site in record time at under two days. Head of School Jayne Clancy said; “Vital Energi have been so helpful and professional, completing works in an extremely tight timeframe. We are very grateful to them and because of their responsiveness and hard work we will not only receive the financial benefit for years to come but will be able to fulfil our ambition to bring energy awareness and climate change into the curriculum.”
