Vital Energi were proud sponsors of the annual Combined Heat and Power Association (CHPA) conference held last week in London.
The CHPA organisation represents its members aims to grow the market for and application of Low Carbon Energy through the widespread application of Heat and Cooling Networks fuelled by Combined Heat and Power generation utilising the most appropriate and cost effective Low Carbon energy technologies in order to create a low carbon economy. Vital Energi continues to support the CHPA by maintaining a long standing membership and by sponsoring such events and awards. The growth of the association has resulted in the conference and awards dinner being extremely well respected and well attended with guests including Government Ministers, leading Policymakers and industry leaders. The conference involved debates and seminars covering issues and achievements in the industry.
The awards ceremony saw the BBC MediaCityUK energy scheme in Salford Quays, Manchester; win the Industrial and Commercial category award for “Innovation” in recognition of its inclusion of a tri-generation district energy scheme. Vital Energi have completed the design and installation of the heating and cooling network which will link the tri-generation energy centre to the nearby buildings. Vital Energi have also designed and installed the 40MW energy centre which includes a 2MW CHP engine, two 9MW gas boilers and a 1.5MW absorption chiller. Vital Energi’s in house design engineers have developed the detailed design solution incorporating a unique canal cooling system which will extract recyclable canal water to provide cooling to buildings on the development.
