The Glenshellach biomass district heating scheme was recently honoured at a prestigious awards ceremony for its pioneering heating systems, where Vital Energi have designed, built and now operate and maintain this system.
The award of 'Best Renewable Project' was presented to our client West Highland Housing Association at the Scottish Green Energy Awards held at the Royal Museum in Edinburgh. The awards highlight the achievements of those spearheading the use of renewables that have had a significant impact on Scottlands green energy production.
Green Highlands & Islands MSP Eleanor Scott congratulated the scheme, "I was delighted to be present at the event to see West Highland recieve its well deserved award''. Biomass district heating systems have a major part to play in tackling climate change and fuel poverty. We know the difference that good affordable heating amkes to housing and schemes like this one provide real benefits to tenants and indeed the wider rural economy''.
