Energy Reduction at York
Vital Efficienci has been working alongside Vital Energi and York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a low-carbon energy solution which will reduce energy costs and carbon emissions and the project was recently named as a finalist in the Retrofit Category of the 2016 Heating and Ventilation News Awards.
Vital Efficienci installed a range of energy conservation measures, such as upgrading 646 light fittings and an upgraded building management system which ensured the hospital was as energy efficient as possible. Vital Energi then designed and installed an energy centre based on this reduced demand.
Vital have provided the Trust with an energy performance contract which will guarantee they will save £12.7 million 45,000 tonnes of CO₂ during the 15-year contract.
Graeme Ponton, Director of Vital Efficienci explained, “Energy reduction has a big part to play in projects like this and many organisations would be astonished at the amount of carbon and money they can save if they embrace energy efficiency. We are delighted that York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust has reached the shortlist and wish them every success on the big night.”
The winners will be announced on Thursday 21st April 2016 at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane London and we would like to congratulate our fellow nominees and wish them good luck on the night!blog comments powered by Disqus
