The opportunity

Vital Energi Utilities Limited (VEUL) is one of the UK’s market leaders in delivering centralised community energy projects. As a result of our continuing success we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors; as such we have an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor based at our Scotland Office within our Commercial Function. This role may require site visits around working sites local to the Scotland Office, and occassional travel to the Head Office in Blackburn.

About the role

Provide commercial assistance to a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors on projects spread nationally across the UK. The role will immediately require the following; Procurement: Preparing and issuing inquiries for major plant, equipment and sub-contract packages. Evaluating the tenders and working with the design and engineering teams to select the right supply chain partner for the project. Assisting the team in preparing purchase orders and sub-contract orders. Sub-Contract Accounts: Providing assistance in valuing/ submitting the sub-contractor monthly valuations and final accounts; including preparing and issue of contractual notices to sub-contractors Commercial Reports: Assisting with the production of the monthly commercial reports to manage the financial performance of all live projects; this will include the review the preliminaries forecasts and forecast cost to complete of all supplier and sub-contract accounts. Valuing Variations / Change Management: Together with the project team the role will include measuring, submitting and agreeing variations with our clients to maximise VEUL’s financial position on projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a high level of commercial acumen and wishes to develop within an ever growing/ vastly important function within Vital Energi.
