Vital Energi Utilities Limited (VEUL) is one of the UK’s market leaders in delivering centralised community energy projects. We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to work in across the UK.

About the role

As Site Project Manager, you will be expected to provide ‘On Site’ guidance and management. You will also be accountable for developing, supporting and delivering the project activities in a safe, structured and cost-effective manner ensuring high standards of productivity/output are maintained and continuously improved on. This role requires a strong background in Mechanical or Electrical Services with Steam systems and Power Generation/CHP Experience an advantage. The Key deliverables for this role will centre on the effective site management of all projects assigned by the Head of Construction.

Key responsibilities

Pre-Construction Phase

  • Produce procurement plan and milestone schedules in line with construction programme
  • Liaise with design team in relation to scope and specifications of works prior to contract release
  • Develop project quality, safety, delivery plans
  • Liaise with Principle Designer to develop construction phase plan and HSE Notifications
  • Mobilise sub-contractors and labour in accordance with the delivery plan
  • Mobilise site establishment.

Project Installation Phase

  • Manage the delivery of the project: Effective day to day running of site activities. Ensure the delivery of the project within timescales and budget
  • Ensure compliance with programme, materials deliveries, and engineering, quality and safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all Contract requirements
  • Attend meetings with client and key stakeholders. Hold weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors and ensure that safety and training are discussed.
  • Hold monthly team meetings to discuss project progress against milestones
  • Ensure effective cost control is maintained and milestone applications are submitted with Quantity Surveyor
  • Ensure productivity at work face is measured on a weekly basis also maintain project progress control.
  • Submit monthly internal reports to Head of Construction
  • To minimise company exposure to risk on the project. Manage and coordinate at site, the installation of the project.
  • Routinely spend time in the field monitoring, observing and assessing performance to maintain and reinforce high standards of work.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant technical aspects within construction industry standards and local authorities requirements if applicable
  • To ensure that relations with the client and all stakeholders in the project are maintained and managed to an appropriate level.
  • To ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Understand the requirements and actions needed to commission, performance test and handover the project
  • Ensure testing and commissioning is carried out in accordance with the Quality Plan and projects specific requirements.
  • Ensure all systems are demonstrated to Client and projects Building control officer where applicable
  • Issue O&M manual format’s for approval prior to final submission Handover O&M manual and record drawings.
  • Prepare final account with the QS, submit and agree with client in line with contractual obligations
  • Produce a project close-out report and submit to the Head of Construction
  • Maintain contact with Operational team/client as required during the warranty period to provide ongoing support
