With nearly 70 staff dedicated to designing award-winning District Energy schemes, our in-house design team is probably one of the largest in the UK. We don’t outsource to consultants, and we are proud to have a team of such highly skilled experts with unrivalled experience in our industry.
We combine the most experienced workforce with our use of cutting edge technology, such as 3D modelling, and consistently create energy solutions which are fully integrated, surpass guarantees, and due to quality project management, are held up as examples of what can be achieved in this industry.
The department is currently working on some of the largest sustainable energy jobs in the UK, including the £25m Guardbridge Biomass Energy Project for the University of St Andrews, Battersea Power Station redevelopment and Royal Albert Dock.
DID YOU KNOW?
Some of our design team helped to write the ‘Heat Networks: Code of Practice for the UK’, the first Code of Practice published by CIBSE, which sets minimum standards to ensure that a heat network operates effectively and meets client and customer expectations.
Exclusive access to high-resolution data for superior energy modelling
Our design department has exclusive access to metering & data analysis capabilities from other parts of the Vital Group, giving our designers an ever growing database of high-resolution energy usage data, which makes their energy modelling more accurate than those based on general estimates.
In addition to this, our proprietary Heat Network Modelling software has contributed to us becoming one of the UK’s leading providers of District Heating.
Always one step ahead of our competition… and technology
Renowned for their unrivalled knowledge in the industry, our Design team, with a high number of Chartered Engineers and CIBSE members, sit on a number of panels to provide industry advice to the UK Government.
Regarded as ‘thought leaders’ in our industry, our Designers are continually seeking to improve performance of district energy projects through new technologies and new ways of doing things, whether at the energy generation stage (i.e. through alternative technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells), or maximizing the efficiency of heat transfer (through developing new joint system advancements etc).
Joining you at any stage of your project
Our design team can help you at any phase of your project, and have worked with customers at all stages of the RIBA plan of work, from pre-concept design through to adaptations on a project in use.
With a dedicated Senior Engineer assigned to your project, we can attend early pre-concept discussions to establish requirements, limitations, and generate ideas.
We’ve reworked schemes that other consultants have designed to make them more cost-effective, and through understanding exactly what you want and need from your project we maximise design to help you achieve your energy project goals.
