Southwark Water Source Heat Pumps: In Progress

Vital Energi are working on a ground-breaking project with Southwark Council to decarbonise the borough by retrofitting water source heat pumps into existing heat networks across the Wyndham, Newington and Consort estates, so residents benefit from sustainable low-carbon heat.

By making use of ground water abstracted from locally drilled 120m deep boreholes, the water source heat pumps will replace gas boilers as the primary heat source, which will deliver a large carbon reduction for around 2,175 properties across the estates and improve the air quality locally.
