We are an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) and are part of the Vital Holdings Ltd group of companies. With over 30 years of experience in heat and power modelling across our group, we are far more than just an IDNO.
There are approximately 300 Independent Connection Providers in the UK according to the Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) website. However, there are less than 30 IDNOs in the UK and only a handful of those are both an ICP and IDNO... including us. As an Ofgem Licensed IDNO, we can adopt, own, operate and maintain local electricity networks in the UK, offering an alternative to traditional Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). Being an ICP as well means that we can also design and build the new electricity network, before adopting it as well, making the process of connecting a new development to the grid far simpler. As an IDNO, we can also offer an Asset Adoption Value, generating capital, which DNOs can't.
