The opportunity

We are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist (Pipe former & HIU assembler) up to a 12 months fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, based in our Head Office, Blackburn.

Key responsibilities

  • To work in a safe manner in accordance with the company’s health & safety policy
  • Fully competent to use CNC machinery - Pipe feeding & cutting (saw) machines, Pipe bending machine, End Forming machine, Bench drill, Disc grinder and compressed air test unit
  • Forming pipe fittings (various metals) to a high standard and accurate tolerances
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Assemble and sub-assemblies for final Heating & Cooling Interface Units (similar to a domestic boiler) HIU & CIU build.
  • These assemblies are both mechanical - Pipe work and electrical (low voltage 5v DC to mains voltage to 230v AC)
  • Contribute to final test, verification and validation of end products. This can be both mechanical testing (compressed air test and water rig test) and electrical testing (controller, valves actuators, heat meter & various sensors)
  • Achieve all quality standards required (ISO 9001-2000)
  • To look after tools, equipment and test equipment provided and report any defects immediately
