We are looking to recruit a SHEQ Administrator to work in our SHEQ Team predominantly based at our Head Office in Blackburn with occasional travel to sites across the UK.

About the role

Working as part of the safety, health, environmental and quality (SHEQ) team, providing administrative support across a range of day to day duties relating to the business wide IMS system; this role will including taking specific responsibility for co-ordinating, recording, updating and maintaining data systems for all aspects of carbon reporting, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and energy management. Also providing administrative support to SHEQ Committee and SHEQ Team as and when required, helping to schedule and distribute information; circulating learning bulletins and similar publications.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with others in the SHEQ team to achieve excellent safety, health, environmental and quality (SHEQ) standards across the business
  • Help develop and implement environmental programmes, overseeing same and reporting on their progress to SHEQ Director and management tiers.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis (trending) of statistical information and production of monthly SHEQ reports with specific attention on the environmental performance of the organisation
  • Update and assist with the management of the Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with both relevant statutes, standards and business requirements
  • Update, maintain, communicate and as required administer business wide SHEQ register of monthly data including corrective actions from inspections and audits
  • Generate initial draft of monthly SHEQ reports for distribution by SHEQ Director to the management board and operational teams
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal SHEQ audit programmes
  • Assist in the organisation of external audit function with our accreditation auditors
  • Provide support in relation to the identification of trends and development of improvements and improvement requests for the business within IMS and specifically Env. Management
  • Support with managing client feedback processes including client surveys, client communications and client complaints/compliments
  • Provide guidance/assistance and job training to VE co-workers; assisting with the development of SHEQ communications, products and training content as required
  • Communicate and liaise with customers, clients, supply chain contacts and members of operational team to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards
  • Identify root causes of environmental problems and propose appropriate action assessing potential environmental risks and helping develop mitigation plans
  • Engage with line manager in planning development and reviewing personal performance.
  • Prepare and review with line manager SECR and other reports required by the business
