Our £16.2m decarbonisation project at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will deliver benefits that extend far beyond annual carbon savings of more than 3,000 tonnes. The scheme is expected to reduce the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust's energy costs by around £1m each year, enabling more funding to be directed towards patient care, while also creating a more comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Jules Lewis, End of Life Lead Nurse, explains how social value funding associated with the project helped create two Swan Rooms, providing patients receiving end-of-life care and their families with a peaceful, comfortable and dignified space when they need it most.
