Vital Energi runners take on Lisbon marathon for Parkinson's Charity

The months of pre-work runs, weekend practice and sore legs all proved worth it when six members of the Vital Energi running club took on the Lisbon Marathon in support of Northern Lights Parkinson’s Support Group.

We’d like to congratulate Iain Murray, Thomas Winrow, Kimberley Yong, Andy Kenworthy, Jon Linford and Ben Cooper on a fantastic achievement. The finish line may have marked the end of this particular challenge, but the impact goes well beyond the 26.2 miles run, as they also raised over £31,700 so far for Northern Lights Parkinson’s Support Group.

Northern Lights is a charity founded by people affected by Parkinson’s to support others facing the same journey. Since its launch, the organisation has become a vital source of support for people living with Parkinson’s, as well as their families and carers, providing opportunities to connect, share experiences and take part in a range of activities.

Vital Energi has a running club, which is largely about fitness, wellbeing and strengthening relationships in and out of work. We’ve been supporting Northern Lights for several years now and know the great work they do, so this was an opportunity to bring both of those things together and raise funds for a cause that makes a huge, practical difference in people’s day-to-day lives.

We’d like to say thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, shared posts, offered encouragement and helped make this fundraising effort.  In particular, we’d like to thank Process Installations & Maintenance Services Ltd for being our main sponsor.

We are also incredibly grateful to Corran Capital, UK Landcare Ltd, EcoPowerSoft, LOGSTOR UK and CSXO for their valued support and contribution to our campaign.

Thank you as well to Verde Services, Team Academy Ltd, PPSL District Heating Ltd, ERA Group and CPC Civils, whose support has also played an important part in raising such an impressive amount.

Most importantly, congratulations to the team. Completing a marathon is an achievement. Doing it while raising tens of thousands of pounds for a cause that makes such a difference is something to be incredibly proud of.

Whilst the marathon is over, there’s still time to make a donation in support of Northern Lights Parkinson’s Support Group.  If you’d like to donate, please click here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/vitalparkypartners
