No. Vital Community Energi acts as the accountable heat supplier. We assume responsibility for billing, customer service, compliance, reporting and operational oversight under a formal ESCo arrangement via and Energy services agreement.

Yes. Vital Community Energi can adopt existing heat network schemes or work with developers to take on the ESCo for new build developments.

We will then develop a structured transition plan to bring the network into a compliant and operationally robust position.

If you transfer your ESCo to Vital Community Energi, we will assume full responsibility for meeting the obligations associated with the role it undertakes under the agreed operating model. We provide governance, reporting, customer protection and regulatory management as part of the ESCo service.

No. We take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the heat supply service, allowing your organisation to focus on its core activities.

Your organisation remains responsible for complying with heat network regulation, customer protection requirements, reporting obligations and any associated enforcement action, including risk of breaking the law and significant fines.

It means transferring the responsibility, accountability and economic operation of the heat supply service to customers.

Vital Community Energi becomes the accountable organisation responsible for supplying heat to customers, managing billing and customer service, meeting regulatory obligations and delivering the service under a long-term Energy Services Agreement.

In many cases, the asset owner retains ownership of the energy infrastructure whilst Vital Community Energi assumes responsibility for operating the heat supply service under a long-term Energy Services Agreement (ESA).

This allows the asset owner to retain ownership whilst transferring the accountability, customer obligations, regulatory compliance and economic operation of the heat supply service to a specialist heat supplier.

Where appropriate, asset ownership can also transfer, but this is not a prerequisite for adopting an ESCo model.
