Description of Copper Pipe System

Vital Energi Copper pre-insulated pipes are suitable for District Heating and Domestic Hot and Cold Water applications. They are constructed of a soft, drawn, seamless Copper service pipe, polyurethane (PUR) foam insulation and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) outercasing.

The Copper pipe system is available as a Single, Twin and Double pipe configuration

The Copper pipe system is a bonded system manufactured according to BS EN253, this means the steel carrier pipe, insulation and outer casing are moulded together to form a solid unit. Thus, the expansion movements of the steel carrier pipe will be transferred to the outer casing via the foam insulation.

Vital Energi Copper pre-insulated pipes are available 6m and 12m lengths as standard. The pipes are supplied with two copper wires embedded in the polyurethane (PUR) insulation; these wires are used to identify any leaks in the system.

The polyurethane (PUR) insulation has a guaranteed lambda value of 0.027 W/mK.

  • Medium Temperature Hot Water (MTHW)
  • Domestic Hot and Cold water

  • Reduction in the number of joints needed through the availability of long lengths
  • Reduction in the number of joints needed through single outer casing when using Twin or Double pipes systems
  • Reduction in the number of bends/fittings needed as the piping can be curved on site to follow the best and easiest path
